Women’s Residential Trauma Recovery
Private Residential Trauma Treatment & Mental Health Recovery for Women
Some forms of trauma recovery require more than weekly therapy.
For women navigating persistent PTSD, unresolved trauma, or complex mental health challenges, stepping away from daily life can create the space necessary for deeper healing.
4Winds offers a private residential trauma recovery program for women seeking immersive mental health and trauma treatment in a discreet, nature-based environment.
Located on 134 secluded acres in the Colorado Rockies, our campus provides a structured therapeutic setting where women can focus fully on recovery, supported by clinicians, facilitators, and a community of women engaged in similar work.
Why Residential Trauma Recovery Matters
Trauma affects the nervous system, emotional regulation, and relational patterns in ways that often cannot be fully addressed through short weekly therapy sessions alone.
An immersive residential setting allows women to:
- Step out of chronic stress environments
- Stabilize the nervous system
- Process trauma with consistent therapeutic support
- Translate emotional insight into embodied change
- Rebuild resilience and internal safety
At 4Winds, residential care provides the containment and continuity necessary for trauma recovery to move beyond symptom management and toward integration.
A Personalized Length of Stay
Unlike traditional residential trauma treatment programs, 4Winds does not follow a standardized timeline.
Every woman arrives with a unique history, nervous system, and set of recovery goals. For that reason, length of stay is customized based on individual needs, clinical guidance, and the pace of each woman’s healing process.
Some women may benefit from a shorter immersive stay focused on stabilization and integration. Others may choose a longer residential experience that allows for deeper trauma recovery work.
Our admissions and clinical team work closely with each woman to determine the most supportive structure for her care.

- Access phones and laptops when appropriate
- Move through the campus freely
- Participate actively in shaping their recovery process
The goal is not to remove women from their lives. The goal is to create a supportive environment where meaningful healing work can occur while preserving dignity, independence, and self-direction.
