A Private Healing Environment in the Colorado Rockies

THE 4WINDS CAMPUS

Healing requires more than therapy alone.
The environment in which recovery takes place can shape the healing process as much as the work itself.

The 4Winds campus sits on 134 secluded acres in the Colorado Rockies, surrounded by open meadows, forested trails, and expansive mountain views.

Many women describe a subtle shift when they first arrive.

The pace of the nervous system begins to slow. The constant background tension of daily life softens. The body starts to settle.

For many women, simply arriving on the land begins to change something.

The Land

The land is not simply a backdrop for the work at 4Winds.
It is an active part of the healing process.

The campus includes wide open meadows, forested walking trails, mountain views, and quiet spaces intentionally preserved for reflection and restoration.

Nature has a powerful effect on the nervous system. Time spent walking the land, sitting in stillness, or engaging in outdoor therapeutic experiences allows many women to regulate in ways that feel difficult in everyday environments.

The landscape provides both space and grounding — a natural container where deeper healing work can begin.

Experiences on the land may include:

  • reflective walks and quiet time in nature
  • equine-assisted therapeutic experiences
  • individual somatic archery sessions
  • outdoor group sessions and integration circles
  • guided somatic practices
  • time for personal reflection and restoration

Many women find that the land itself supports the work taking place inside the therapy rooms.

The Healing Barn

At the heart of the campus stands the 30,000-square-foot Healing Barn, a space designed to hold the collective work of healing.

This expansive structure serves as the primary gathering place for group therapy, somatic workshops, movement practices, and experiential programming.

Large doors open to sweeping views of the surrounding mountains, allowing the work inside the barn to remain connected to the land.

The environment inside the barn is intentionally warm and grounded with natural textures, soft lighting, and comfortable gathering areas designed to support emotional openness and reflection.

Attached to the main gathering space is a smaller integration room created for quiet reflection following deeper therapeutic work. Soft blankets, layered textures, and a calm atmosphere help women transition gently back into the present moment.

The Main House

The Main House serves as a central gathering place on campus.

With three bedrooms, a shared kitchen, and welcoming living spaces, it offers a warm and familiar environment where women often gather between therapeutic sessions.

Meals, conversation, and quiet moments of connection frequently happen here, creating a sense of everyday life within the healing process.

Between structured therapeutic work, women often find themselves gathered around the kitchen, sharing stories, preparing meals, or simply sitting together in quiet companionship. These simple moments of connection can become an important part of the healing experience.

Residential Apartments

For women participating in residential programs, the campus includes five private residential apartments designed for extended healing stays.

These spaces offer both comfort and autonomy, with single and shared occupancy options, fully equipped kitchens, and comfortable living areas.

Women participating in residential programs often stay 30–90 days, allowing them to immerse themselves fully in the healing process while maintaining personal space within the broader community.

These apartments provide a place to rest, reflect, and integrate the work happening throughout the day.

The Spa Sanctuary

The Spa Sanctuary is one of the most intimate environments on campus.

Designed for restoration and contemplative experiences, this space includes an infrared sauna, a cold plunge deck, and a private setting used for certain therapeutic sessions.

The atmosphere is intentionally quiet and calming, allowing women to step away from stimulation and reconnect with their bodies and breath.

For many women, this space becomes an important part of nervous system regulation and physical restoration during their time on campus.

A Campus Designed for Privacy and Discretion

Many women who come to 4Winds carry significant personal or professional responsibility.

Privacy matters.

The campus is intentionally secluded and not visible from line of sight, creating a discreet environment where women can step away from public life and focus fully on healing.

Admissions are confidential, and all programs take place within a women-only setting designed to foster emotional safety and trust.

This level of privacy allows women to engage in recovery without sacrificing identity, credibility, or personal dignity.

Living and Healing in Community

Healing does not happen in isolation.

At 4Winds, women participate in programs alongside a small cohort of others who are navigating similar healing work.

Shared kitchens, gathering spaces, and group sessions allow women to experience both personal reflection and meaningful connection.

Within this environment, women often discover that hearing others’ stories brings perspective to their own experiences. The presence of other women on a similar path can create a powerful sense of understanding and belonging.

This community is carefully supported by clinicians and facilitators to ensure the environment remains grounded, respectful, and emotionally safe.

The Rhythm of Life on Campus

Life at 4Winds follows a gentle but intentional rhythm designed to support emotional stability and nervous system balance.

Each day may include a combination of:

  • individual therapy sessions
  • group integration work
  • somatic and experiential
  • practices
  • time in nature
  • quiet space for reflection and rest

This structure provides guidance and support while allowing each woman to move through the healing process at a pace that honors her individual needs.

The goal is not to rush recovery, but to create an environment where meaningful change can unfold.

A Place to Step Away and Begin Again

Many women arrive at 4Winds feeling exhausted from years of holding responsibility for others.

The campus offers a place where that responsibility can finally be set down.

Here, women are able to slow down, reconnect with themselves, and engage in meaningful healing work supported by clinicians, facilitators, and a community of women walking a similar path.

For many, the environment itself becomes part of the healing journey: a place where clarity returns, the nervous system settles, and a new chapter can begin.

If you are exploring trauma recovery, mental health care, or a healing retreat experience, our admissions team can help determine whether 4Winds may be the right environment for your next stage of healing.
